Specialist Services

MSU provides patients with specialty care through more than 20 specialty services. Many of these patients are referred by their primary care veterinarians. However, at any time a client may contact the Hospital to request an appointment for any specialty service without a referral. Further collaboration across services allows the Hospital to provide a depth of skills and knowledge unmatched in the state.

Primary Care Service

The Primary Care Service provides routine health care, including physical examinations, wellness care for all life stages, vaccinations, and treatment of minor injuries or illnesses. Senior veterinary students examine, discuss treatment options, and provide care for animals under the supervision of primary care veterinarians. The service provides care for animals and practical experience for students.

Emergency and Critical Care Services

The Emergency and Critical Care Medicine Service receives small and large animal patients as walk-ins and those that are referred by their veterinarian. We will see any animal patient at any time if the problem is perceived by the owner or veterinarian to be urgent or emergent in nature.

We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
